The channel USA Network will wrap up the events of the law firm in Manhattan with a shorter season than the previous. Whereas the distribution of the second part of the season 8 of Suits resumes tonight on channel USA Network, the site’s Variety has just confirmed the renewal of the series for a final season, consisting of 10 episodes only instead of 16 as usual. Created in 2011, the series is centered on the daily life of a law firm specializing in corporate law in Manhattan, led by the legendary Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), his partner in become Louis Litt, and their secretary, Donna Paulsen (Sarah Rafferty), to become director general with the seasons. After many internal struggles and the loss of their main partners, the trio now continues to tackle big corporations with the help of the two newcomers, Alex and Samantha, as well as the talented Katrina (Amanda Schull). Together, they strive to keep their clients at a distance while maintaining their firm afloat. The series resumes at the time when Louis (Rick Hoffman) became the new partner of Zane Specter Litt, while Samantha (Katherine Heigl) and Alex (Dule Hill) try to weld the team so that the reports can be tend between Louis, Harvey and Robert, and Katrina is promoted as a partner for the majority. These new episodes will explore the new dynamic of the duo, following the introduction of the two actors in the series after the departure of Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle at the end of season 7. In a statement to Variety, the creator, Aaron Korsh, was keen to thank the team as well as the fans of the series as a result of this ultimate renewal : “before anything I just wanted to thank Alex Sepiol, and Dennis Kim, without whom SUITS would have never done (…) and everyone within the chain and in the studio for their investment and support over the years. And to the wonderful writers, cast and members of the team – thank you for your passion and devotion, without which SUITS wouldn’t be anything. Finally, and most importantly, to the fans who stayed to the sides of the series against the winds and tides, through the can opener and flashbacks – thank you for always speaking your mind.
